DEMI SEKEPING TANAH BERNAMA PALESTIN!!!

BISMILLAAHIRRAHMAANIRRAHIIIM...

I LOVE BEING AN ACCOUNTANT... BUT AS A MUSLIM I KNOW THAT ACCOUNTING IS MORE THAN JUST BALANCING ACCOUNTS

We always hear “do what you love.” Yes it's true but do I get paid when I do things that I love to do? Choosing a career is not like asking ourselves "what we want to eat tonite?" Career decisions are about what kind of life do we want to set up for ourselves?

I have been in accounting field since I was 15 years old... but I didnt get A for accounting subject during PMR. I didnt know what I wanted to be that time and I never dreamt to be an accountant... just follow the path that had been determined for me... got a place in Sek Men Teknik Seremban in accounting course. Then, I got an offer "Diploma in Accountancy" in UiTM Segamat (what a lovely place!). Completed Bach. of Accountancy in 2002... Suddenly, I became an accountant! (After 7 years studying accounting how could I say "Suddenly"??? heheeee...)

Being accountant is so straight forward... recording historical transactions... but being a MUSLIM... I am so concerned about my accounting routine. Being ISLAMIC is not only about our appearance as Muslims but our ACCOUNTABILITY TO ALLAH AND TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE TO SYARIAH. Being an Islamic Accountants are not as easy as writing journals or books on Islamic Accounting.

It is very difficult when ADJUSTING CLIENTS' ACCOUNTS (especially when it comes to calculation of zakat or to maintain the clients' profit or to help clients avoiding high taxes) has become a NORM... sad!!!. Thinking of leaving this career but if we do not change and give up... do we expect NON-MUSLIMS to take care the accounts of MUSLIMS businesses?

May Allah show the right things to us in everything we do.
